Rough story outline

The bell rings as a new customer walks into Sharpe's barbershop. Right before the door shuts a fly sneaks into the shop. Harry looks up after sweeping up all the hair from his previous customers and courteously greets a man with a wild afro. The customer shows Harry a photo of a model with a pompadour cut and points it at his head. Harry rubs his chin while analyzing the afro. Harry then guides his customer to the barbershop chair and wraps a barber cloak around the customer's neck.

After trimming a bit from the sides, Harry grabs his hair clipper and turns it on. The loud buzzing sound masks the fly's noise. As Harry is working on his customer, the curious fly starts flying around his face. Harry is startled and then brushes the fly off with the back of his hand. The offended fly comes back and lands on top of Harry's nose. The fly then sticks its tongue out at Harry and moons him. Harry is furious and tries grab the fly. The fly narrowly escapes and then laughs at Harry. Harry gets even angrier and snarls.

Harry is oblivious to his customer hair in his rage as he tries to kill the fly with his clipper. With the fly's quick reflexes, it dodges Harry's swipes. The only thing Harry is hitting is his customer's afro. Because the customer is reading the newspaper with headphones on, he is also oblivious to the chaos that is happening to his own afro. Harry finally kills the fly with his clipper and triumphantly poses. He then looks down at the back of his customer's head and turns white as he notices scalp. The customer has a pompadour in the front and a huge shaved spot in the back. Harry gulps and sweats as he applies glue to the customer's scalp. He then attaches some of the hair that he cut off and cleans up the customer. Fortunately for Harry, customer doesn't notice any mistakes pays Harry the money. Harry nervously smiles and then puts the money in his cash register . As the customer leaves Harry's shoulder's are slumped and his head is down in shame.

Character Development Assignment

Harry's backstory

Harry is a barber and owner of Sharpe's Barbershop. He inherited the barbershop from his father since he was 20. His father was strict and stressed him to be perfect with every customer. Not only did Harry inherit the barbershop, he also inherited his father's short tempered personality. Throughout his career he's taken back trophies from the national hair cutters competitions. Alphonso's barbershop is one of the few remaining barbershops in Portland. He has an intense hatred of insects since he was bitten by mosquitoes while he was a little kid.  Harry also likes to try out different kinds of cologne.

Toll Booth Story

Harry is approaching the toll booth and searches his wallet for the toll. As he realizes that he is short on change, his car plows right through the gate. Harry starts cursing at his clumsiness and has flashbacks about his strict father stressing over how perfect Harry needs to be. He stops his car to clean up the mess he has caused and is about to call the authorities until he notices mosquitoes around him. Instead of dialing the number, Harry freaks out and tries to swat at all the bugs around him. Harry forgets about calling the authorities about his accident and instead, drives away to avoid the insects.

Hello fellow classmates, these are my five concepts for my first assignment in pre-production animation.

My first idea is about a barber who gets harassed by a fly. The buzzing sound of the hair clipper gives the fly the opportunity to sneak up on the barber.

For my second idea I wanted an adventurous fantasy story about a Peruvian boy who wants to be a knight. He wanders off into ancient ruins to discover mysteries.
I thought about this story as I was scrambling to find a power outlet for my phone. The idea is about a stranded robot with low battery. He desperately searches for energy while dealing with mirages.

This story is about a bodyguard that was hired as a babysitter. This highly trained bodyguard takes extreme measures to keep the baby safe from germs, corners and ninjas.

My last idea involves an injured messenger pigeon using a bottle as a vehicle to deliver a messenger across the sea. On his journey he encounters what lies beneath the seas.
